Choose a rule sheet to review. Creator laws stay in control.Room 1 starts with the protected baseline. Later rooms add governed identities without removing earlier ones.
Field rulebook
This is the readable version of the rules that govern the run. The executable contracts are the authority.
1. Authority and safe revert
Creator-controlled changes are not casual edits. They must be executable, independently checked, and fail closed when a rule cannot be verified.
- The safe revert spot is a reference for the approved default settings, not a reset button.
- A future change must preserve the contracts unless the Creator explicitly approves a new governed version.
- Startup and preflight audits block an unverified roster or combat rule from reaching play.
2. Combat laws
- Player shots spend ammo even when a target is temporarily protected; protection never creates free ammunition.
- Every living enemy, including Splitters, is always visible and damageable. Missing enemy HP is set to five.
- Every enemy remains visible and damageable; no enemy can disappear or gain immunity by becoming invisible.
- The Warper keeps its cyan marker, warp pressure, and ranged attacks, but it is always visible, always damageable, and has no protected shield.
- Enemy movement speed, damage rules, projectile rules, and room-clear rules are enforced by runtime contracts.
- Only Splitters may produce Pawns (duplicates). Warpers never duplicate, split, merge, or create replacement enemies.
3. Room roster and behaviors
Rooms 1–2Stalker movement and ranged pressure; Wildfire uses orange fire shots and burning effects.
Room 3Splitter production, Pawn creation, merge behavior, and shot reflection.
Room 4Warper movement, warp pressure, ranged attacks, and a permanently visible, damageable target.
Rooms 5–10Splitter variants, Vision, Grotesque Glob, and Globswarm behaviors are admitted by their room contracts.
Rooms 11–25Specialist enemies, bosses, mines, necromancy, traps, flyhives, elemental threats, and fusion identities use governed runtimes.
4. Progression and unlocks
- Rooms, upgrades, career choices, fusion, experimental equipment, and enemy upgrades use their own access gates.
- Purchases change the current run only through the approved progression paths and are recorded for persistence.
- Pressure options can alter future room difficulty, but cannot remove Creator roster identities or bypass validation.
5. How a rule is verified
The lawbook, Creator contract, gameplay contract, safe-spot contract, and continuous oversight checks work together. Independent audits inspect roster, rendering, movement, damage, and room-clear behavior before the run is trusted.
If a required check fails, the system stops or rejects the change instead of silently guessing.
