one day, Jake needs a ride somewhere about an hour away. He texts the group chat with London and Claire, asking if either of them could give him a ride.

London: “I would but my car is in the shop, sorry bro.”

Claire: “Uhm, i possibly could. I would just need some gas money.”

I immediately feel warm inside as the thought of Jake being in the car alone with me runs through my mind. I lay on my bed on my stomach, kicking my feet in the air while waiting for a response.
