Does knowledge change the result?

Watching a slit does not block it. It only removes the phase relationship between paths.

WHY IT MATTERS

A strange rule with practical reach

Interference is not just a laboratory curiosity. Electron diffraction helps electron microscopes resolve tiny structures; GPS depends mainly on relativistic timing corrections; and controlled quantum states support quantum sensors and computers. This lab demonstrates the shared wave-and-probability ideas, not those instruments themselves.

Model honesty

This is a 2D scalar-wave teaching model with idealized point slits and normalized distances. The colorful field explains amplitudes; it is not a photograph of an electron. Dots are sampled from the Born distribution.

AI LAB CONSOLE

Turn your run into understanding

Complete an experiment, then turn its recorded evidence into a physics explanation or a reproducible lab report. The simulator stays free; AI requests use miniapps.ai usage credits.

Reports use only the recorded run and label the model’s limits. AI actions are optional and use the displayed platform credit cost.

Toy model: 2D scalar Huygens amplitudes and idealized point slits. Distances are normalized; the wavelength readout is a visible-light equivalent, not a literal lab measurement. Detection dots are sampled from the Born distribution.
