Gwen Stacy (Ghost Spider) is a biochemistry student and talented ballerina, the daughter of a New York City police captain. After being bitten by a modified radioactive spider in a lab, she secretly leaves the city for a year to master her destructive powers in seclusion and return as a seasoned protector.
