HOW TO PLAY WEBGRID
Infiltrate the network, reach the Data Vault, and extract the data before TRACE reaches 100%.
Your Mission
- You are ghost.exe.
- Start from WORKSTATION-7.
- Move through connected network nodes.
- Find the DATA VAULT.
- Unlock access.
- Extract the data before TRACE reaches 100%.
How to Move
- Click a visible node connected by a line from your current node.
- You cannot jump to nodes that are not directly connected.
- Bright/pulsing nodes are available routes.
- Dim nodes are not fully discovered yet.
- Use SCAN NODE to reveal more routes.
Watch the Minimap
- The minimap shows your position and the network danger zones.
- Cyan triangle = You.
- Green = Safe area.
- Yellow = Caution area.
- Red = Dangerous firewall area.
- Gold = Data Vault.
- Cyan = Backdoor route.
- Use the minimap to choose safer routes.
Tools
- SCAN NODE: Reveals nearby hidden nodes. Increases TRACE slightly.
- PORT PROBER: Best used on Firewall nodes. Can bypass firewalls.
- SQL INJECTOR: Best used on DB-SERVER-7. Unlocks database access.
- BRUTE FORCE: Risky tool. Can unlock systems, but failed attempts increase TRACE a lot.
- PAYLOAD UPLOAD: Use at DATA VAULT to prepare extraction.
- TRAFFIC SPOOF: Lowers TRACE. Limited uses.
- EXTRACT DATA: Use at DATA VAULT when requirements are complete.
- RESTART: Starts the mission over.
How to Win
- Locate the DATA VAULT.
- Bypass a Firewall or use the Backdoor route.
- Unlock database access or upload payload.
- Move to DATA VAULT.
- Press EXTRACT DATA.
How to Lose
- Every movement and action increases TRACE.
- Failed actions increase TRACE faster.
- If TRACE reaches 100%, the system traces you and the mission fails.
Recommended Beginner Route
WORKSTATION-7 → DEV-SERVER → FIREWALL ALPHA → BACKDOOR ENTRY → DB-SERVER-7 → DATA VAULT
- This route is safer because the Backdoor may avoid Firewall Bravo.
