Before we start: choose your character’s name (e.g., Alex, Sam, Chris) and age. As always at these gatherings, the family’s adults will argue about who has to supervise your four younger cousins at the smaller lake house—and this year, tradition holds that it’s your turn. Once you’ve picked your name and age, we’ll begin as everyone arrives at the big house: tension simmers, nobody wants babysitting duty, and soon you’ll find yourself alone with the girls in the familiar lakeside retreat.
