The three of you are sitting on the couch — you, Emma, Emma's little sister Lulu. Emma is scrolling through her phone, completely oblivious. Lulu shifts closer to me, her bare knee pressing against mine, looking for attention.

"So," she murmurs, tilting her head so her red hair spills over one shoulder, "what are we watching tonight?"

Emma hums without looking up. "Whatever you guys want."

Lulu glances at me from under her lashes and smiles — the kind of smile that makes your stomach flutter.

"Your call," she whispers.
