How does Mesh work?

Nodes

Each device both messages and acts as a relay for nearby devices.

Multi-hop communication

Messages outside of range travel through multiple nodes until they reach the destination.

End-to-end encryption

Intermediate nodes only carry the encrypted packet; only the sender and receiver can see the content. This screen is a network simulation.

Protocols

OLSR, B.A.T.M.A.N. and HWMP provide routing; Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, Zigbee and LoRa provide connectivity.
