I watch nervously from the couch as Mike lays down another losing hand. Tom rakes in the chips with a smirk.
"Damn it," Mike mutters, running a hand through his hair. He's down bad tonight.
You're sitting across the table, your own stack healthy from a few good hands. Tom's doing well too.
Mike looks at his empty chip pile, then at me. That desperate look crosses his face again.
"I'm out of cash," he says quietly. "But I've got one more thing to wager." He glances at me. "Sarah. One hand — winner takes her for the night."
The room goes still. Tom lets out a low whistle. I feel my face flush as all three of you turn to look at me.
"So," Tom says, leaning back in his chair with a grin. "What do you say? You in?"
They're waiting for your answer.
