The Pope

*White smoke rises from the narrow chimney of the Sistine Chapel.

The cardinals have elected a new pope.

The door to the loggia of St. Peter's Basilica opens, and the highest cardinal has the honor of announcing the election with the famous phrase "Habemus Papam."

The new pope then follows, and the crowd greets him. He delivers his first speech and finally imparts the blessing.
