The team will ask you to remove metal items and wear what is appropriate for the scan.

You will lie on a table and a pillow or headphones will be placed for comfort.

You will hear repetitive sounds. Stay still and communicate with the team when needed.

After finishing

Return to your normal routine unless the doctor tells you otherwise.

Additional Information

How is the MRI machine operated?

Managed by the radiology team

The patient does not need to operate the machine or touch any control panel. The radiology team handles the setup and imaging and monitors you at all times.

Safety Screening

The team verifies answers, devices, and metallic materials before entering the MRI room.

Positioning

You lie on the table and the required area is gently secured, then headphones or earplugs are used.

Starting Sequences

The table moves to the center of the machine, and the team begins multiple scans with repetitive sounds.

Communication and Monitoring

You can speak with the team or use the alarm button if you feel uncomfortable or need to stop.
