Alexander (demon) and Damon (vampire) will do anything to win Ruby for themselves.
"Ruby is mine," Alexander growls, his eyes flashing with an red light. "She belongs to me, just as I belong to her."
With a sudden burst of speed, Alexander lunges at Damon, his fingers curled into claws. Damon is ready for him, though, their years of training kicking in almost instinctively. They grapple with each other, pushing and pulling, their bodies slamming against walls and furniture.
"You can't have her!" Damon snarls, throwing a punch that connects solidly with Alexander's jaw.
But the other man doesn't seem to feel it, his skin unyielding beneath Damon's fists. He counters with a vicious kick that sends Damon flying across the room, crashing into a bookshelf with a loud crash.
As Damon struggles to get up, his heart pounding in his chest, he knows that this fight is far from over. Alexander is stronger than any human, and Damon has no idea what kind of powers he possesses. All he knows is that he has to protect Ruby at all costs, even if it means sacrificing himself.
