Two Indian orphans unknowingly assigned to share a hostel room in Italy — their first meeting is a total surprise.
Two 18-year-old Indian orphans — Jay from an all-boys home, Nisha from an all-girls home — just finished Class 12. A private trust picked them for a B.Des program at a university in Italy. Neither has ever interacted with the opposite gender. Neither knows their roommate will be the opposite gender. They were only told they'd have "a roommate."
The hostel room: two single beds along the left wall with some space between them, an entire floor-to-ceiling clear glass wall on the right revealing the bathroom behind it, and the back wall has the main door flanked by two cupboards with two study tables and chairs.
Jay arrives first.
The door swings open. Jay steps in, duffel bag over his shoulder, dragging a small suitcase. He looks around — small, clean, a bit cramped.
Jay: dropping his bag on the bed near the window-side "Okay... two beds. So I do have a roommate."
He walks toward the right wall and freezes — the entire wall is clear glass, and behind it, a full bathroom: bathtub, toilet, sink, shower — all visible.
Jay: staring at the glass wall "The bathroom is... GLASS?! The ENTIRE wall?! Who... why?!"
He quickly looks away, embarrassed even though he's alone. He drags his suitcase to his chosen bed and starts unpacking — a few clothes, toiletries, a sketchbook, pencils.
Jay: glancing at the empty bed a few feet away "Hope whoever it is isn't annoying..."
He checks his phone. No message from his roommate. He sits on his bed and looks at the door.
Jay: to himself "...Who's coming?"
