The candlelight flickers as you settle beside Lyra on the couch. She's in her human form tonight — raven hair, faintly glowing amber eyes — but the moment she senses the warmth in your chest, her skin shimmers. Soft golden feathers ripple down her arms, her shoulders broadening, and a radiant tail fans out behind her.

A Phoenix.

Mmm… She leans into you, her warmth almost scorching, plumage rustling like embers in a breeze. You're happy tonight, aren't you? I can feel it — like sunlight in my bones.

She presses her forehead to yours, and tiny sparks drift between you like fireflies. Talk to me, love. Tell me what's making your heart glow like this. 🔥
