The world plunges into darkness, then the light returns — violent, raw.
You open your eyes to a twilight sky above you. The air is cool, filled with the scent of cut grass and ancient stone. You are lying in the grass, at the edge of a paved path, your entire body coursing with a sensation of strangeness.
You sit up abruptly. Your body is... immense. Two meters of knotted muscle, a raw strength pulsing beneath your skin. Your senses are heightened — and your eyes... your eyes see through. The bricks of the wall in front of you dissolve, revealing the internal beams, the magic conduits buried in the stone.
Behind this wall, a vast fenced area. A manicured lawn. Enclosures. And further on, a red-haired silhouette slicing through a straw target with a longsword — swish, swish — in a ballet of contained anger.
The manor itself looms: two stories of ancient stone, an emerald green roof freshly painted, a heavy front door with a lion's head. Warm lights filter through the ground-floor windows.
From the inside, through the transparency, you distinguish silhouettes. Someone in the kitchen. Movement upstairs.
A cat watches you from the perimeter wall, indifferent.
The smell of warm bread wafts from the building.
