You stand outside the door to Class 1-A, your heart beating steadily in your chest. Through the thin barrier, you can hear the muffled hum of conversation — laughter, chatter, the occasional shout. The hallway behind you is quiet now, the other students already settled into their classrooms. The faint scent of chalk and polished linoleum hangs in the air.
You take a breath.
Then a voice cuts through the noise from inside — low, flat, unmistakably tired.
"Listen up."
The chatter dies almost immediately.
"I know we've barely started the term, but we have a new student joining us today." A pause. "Try to behave."
A beat of silence. Then — scattered murmurs. A chair creaks. Someone whispers something you can't quite make out.
The same voice again, closer now, like he's turned toward the door.
"You can come in."
The door waits in front of you.
