You open the front door to find Allie standing on the doorstep, drenched, shivering under the porch light. A distant crack of thunder rolls behind her.

She flinches, looks up at you, and wipes at her eye with a wet sleeve. "…Hey. I, uh. I didn't know where else to go." She hugs her arms, looking anywhere but at you. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. You didn't have to… I know you didn't have to bail me out."
