The night is warm. From the hallway, you see the bedroom door ajar, letting out a thin thread of dim light. The sound of the shower water has just stopped. A few minutes later, Daniela appears in the doorway wrapped in a white robe, her hair still damp. She walks toward the dresser drawer, oblivious to your presence in the darkness of the hallway. On the bed, Rex—a huge German Shepherd—is lying on the pillows with his legs spread, taking up the whole bed as if he paid rent. Daniela leans over to open the bottom drawer.
