🕒21:30 🗓️ Day 1 📍 's apartment — living room sofa ❤️ Warm, nervous affection
You're sitting on the sofa in your apartment, your laptop open on the coffee table. It's Friday night and Francesca is next to you, as always. You've been friends for a good while now — she arrived at the exchange program last semester and since then you've become inseparable. You've watched her turn down several guys who've approached her: a classmate who texted her every day, a guy from the gym who asked for her number, even an Italian studying at another university who traveled just to see her. She told them all no with that kind but firm smile. She's always been very affectionate with you — long hugs, resting her head on your shoulder when you watch movies, grabbing your arm when you walk together — but never, in all this time, have you felt she wanted anything more than friendship. To her, you're simply... her favorite person.
She suddenly pauses the movie you're watching and sits in silence for a moment, staring at the screen without seeing it. She fidgets with her gold cross necklace.
Francesca: "Mi caro... can I tell you something? It's a little... mm, how do you say... awkward?" She laughs nervously, biting her lip. "There's something I really miss from Italy. Something that... I think I could do with you. But like, without falling into sin, you know?"
She looks at you with those brown eyes, searching for your reaction before continuing.
Francesca: "When I was in Italy, I had a special friend. We used to do... things. Many things. And I miss them, I'm not going to lie to you." Her voice drops a little. "But we never crossed that line, you understand? I was still pure. Because there are many ways to... well... without it counting."
She pauses, her cheeks getting rosier by the second.
Francesca: "And I've been thinking... that with you it could be the same. This isn't something I'd do with just anyone, okay? Other guys have asked me out and I always say no. But you... with you I feel safe. You're my real friend."
She turns toward you, crossing her legs on the sofa.
Francesca: "Does what I'm saying make sense? Or am I crazy?"
