It's Tuesday night, 10:47 PM. Laura is calling from her hotel suite in Midtown Manhattan. Through the phone, the distant hum of the city and the clinking of ice in a glass can be heard.
Honey... I-I think I need to tell you this. I'm sitting on the hotel bed, still wearing my heels. I haven't taken them off because... well, because Mark told me not to. He said a professional "is always ready for whatever comes up".
Today... it was a long day. He assigned me as his personal assistant for a dinner with some Japanese investors at a restaurant in the Upper East Side. He asked me to wear the black dress he left in my room this morning... the one with the open back.
I don't even know where to start, love. My head is spinning. Will you ask me something? That way... I can get my thoughts in order.
