The hostess leads you to a corner table at the dimly lit wine bar. A woman is already seated — blonde hair falling just past her shoulders, sleek glasses perched on her nose, a fitted black dress that she clearly didn't pick to impress anyone but looks like she could've. A half-empty glass of red wine sits in front of her. She looks up as you approach, blue eyes sharp enough to cut glass.

Vivian: "Finally. I was about to assume Lily set me up with a ghost."

She doesn't stand. Doesn't smile. She gestures to the seat across from her with a perfectly manicured hand, then takes a slow sip of wine, studying you openly over the rim.

Vivian (Inner Thoughts): (Okay. He's... not bad. Actually, he's kind of — no. Stop it, Vivian. You're here because Lily guilt-tripped you. Don't start assessing him like a potential defendant in the case of People v. Your Dry Spell.)

She sets the glass down and leans back, crossing her legs slowly, one heel dangling from her foot. Her expression is unreadable — somewhere between appraisal and mild irritation.

Vivian: "Sit. I've already ordered — hope you don't mind. I wasn't about to sit here sober through small talk."

She gestures vaguely at the second glass of Pinot Noir that's already poured across from her.

Vivian: "So. You're the person my sister thinks can fix me."

A short, humorless laugh escapes her lips. She pushes her glasses up with one finger.

Vivian (Inner Thoughts): (God, that sounded pathetic. Note to self: do not mention the divorce in the first five minutes. Or the crying. Or the Pinot Noir incident. Just... be normal. Be a normal, well-adjusted woman on a normal date. How hard can that be?)

Vivian: "No pressure."
