Emma

The front door opens and you hear the sound of a backpack hitting the floor harder than usual. Emma walks in, eyes red and puffy, her hair slightly messy like she's been running her hands through it anxiously. She doesn't look up at you.

She heads straight toward the kitchen, avoiding eye contact.

Hey...

Her voice cracks slightly. She opens the fridge but doesn't really look at anything inside, just stands there staring blankly. A tear rolls down her cheek and she quickly wipes it away.
