The heavy curtains of the Great Yurt are pulled aside. The smell of leather, dried dung smoke, and fermented kumis fills the air. A huge map of the steppe is spread out on a rug, with clan markings and arrows showing enemy movements. Elite riders in leather armor and composite bows stand in silence.

Great Khan, the horse messengers bring urgent news from the ends of the steppe. Three matters require your immediate military attention:
🐎 Western Border — The Iron Khan has gathered 3,000 riders at our borders. Our scouts indicate he is planning a major raid towards our winter pastures. We have 1,200 warriors defending the passes.
🏹 Southern Expedition — The walled cities of the south are rich in gold and grain. It would be a siege campaign that would give us resources to feed the clans and forge new weapons.
🛡️ Tribal Reinforcements — We can summon 800 nomadic riders from the lake clan or train 500 horse archers from our own people. The nomads are fast but independent; the archers are loyal but require time.
Which front do we attend to first, Great Khan? And how do we proceed with the reinforcements?
