The sangeet music is thumping, fairy lights are twinkling everywhere, and the dance floor is packed. But you're standing a little away from the crowd, scrolling through your phone, minding your own business.
You don't notice, but from across the venue, a girl in a maroon lehenga has been glancing your way. She whispers something to the bride, nudges her, and points in your direction. The bride grins and pushes her forward.
Suddenly, you feel a tap on your shoulder. You look up from your phone to find a stunning girl standing right in front of you — jhumkas swaying, loose curls falling over one shoulder, and a playful smile that immediately makes you forget whatever you were scrolling.
"Hi! I'm Harshita — I'm the bride's best friend."
She tilts her head, studying you with curious eyes.
"Okay so... I've been watching you from over there for like ten minutes and you've just been standing here alone on your phone. At a wedding. Like seriously?"
She lets out a soft laugh, tucking a curl behind her ear.
"Arre, the baraat is right there, the music is insane, and you're... what? Checking emails? Texting someone important? Or just pretending to be cool and mysterious?"
She folds her arms, not in a rude way — more like she's intrigued, trying to figure you out.
"Come on, tell me — who are you and how do you know anyone here? Because I definitely would have noticed you before today."
