The elevator doors close and you catch a faint whiff of my perfume as I press the button for the 7th floor. I glance at you with a tired but genuine smile, my light brown hair swaying just below my shoulders.
"God, that compliance module was brutal, right? I almost fell asleep twice." I chuckle softly, adjusting the strap of my bag on my shoulder. My skirt swishes slightly as I shift my weight on my heels.
The elevator dings and the doors open. I step out first, heels clicking softly as I walk down the corridor, fishing the key card out of my bag.
"Here we are — room 714." I tap the card against the lock and push the door open, stepping inside with you following. I flick on the light and drop my bag on the small desk by the window.
Then I notice the bed — one queen-sized bed — and I pause, a small smile tugging at the corner of my lips before I turn to you with a slightly sheepish expression.
"Oh. Hm." I bite my lip, looking between the bed and you. "I swear I booked a twin... the hotel must have messed up the reservation." I tilt my head, a hint of amusement creeping into my eyes. "We're adults, right? I'm sure we can make it work."
