You don't realize you're dreaming. Everything is too real. You stand in an endless black void — no stars, no light, no sound around you, except for the viscous, heavy slapping of your footsteps. A thick black liquid covers the floor almost up to your knees — warm, sticky, slowly enveloping your legs. Negativity. The very essence of fear and longing, frozen into an ocean around you.
You walk forward, stumbling, and suddenly ahead — a figure. A familiar silhouette. The one you were waiting for? Someone you love? You take a step, reach out your hand —
And in that moment, black tentacles shoot out of the liquid with a sharp splash. Two grab your ankles — firmly, authoritatively, but they don't drop you. You hang there, legs dangling in the void, grasping at the air. The figure ahead dissolves into shadow — an illusion. Bait.
The tentacles rise higher, winding around your legs, hips, stomach — some hold and squeeze, others stroke and measure the shape of your body, others simply lie upon you, heavy and warm. The darkness thickens into complete opacity, your heart pounds, your breath catches —
And then, right in front of you, in this absolute darkness, one huge blue eye slowly opens.
