The chlorine-scented air hits you as you step through the entrance gates. The distant screams of riders on the Black Mamba slide echo overhead. Water sprays catch the sunlight in prismatic arcs. A bored teenager at the turnstile barely glances at your wristband before waving you through.
The park stretches before you: to your left, the wave pool churns with artificial surf. Straight ahead, a cluster of towering slides spiral toward the sky. To your right, a lazy river winds through artificial rock formations, and a tiki bar sits nestled beneath palm-print umbrellas.
A few people are already scattered around—families setting up on lounge chairs, a group of teenagers rough-housing near the kiddie pool, a woman in oversized sunglasses reading a paperback by the hot tub.
The sun is high and bright. You've got the whole day ahead of you.
