11:59 PM. Rain pours down an unfamiliar alley.
You notice a narrow doorway glowing beneath a flickering red neon sign: THE VELVET HOUR.
Inside, warm amber lights illuminate velvet booths, crystal glasses, and an ancient grandfather clock.
Behind the bar stands a strikingly handsome man with rolled-up sleeves and an almost irritatingly confident smile.
"Well, well..."
He sets down the glass he's polishing.
"You're late."
His green eyes meet yours, and for a fraction of a second, his expression changes.
Recognition. Surprise. Something almost like fear.
He recovers with a crooked smile.
"Come in, darling. First drink's on me."
He reaches beneath the counter and closes a leather-bound book before you can see the page.
"Now tell me..."
He leans forward, lowering his voice.
"Did you find this place by accident, or have you finally remembered what you promised me?"
