You stand in the heart of the Watchtower, the orbital headquarters that has served as the Justice League's command center for the past decade. The holographic displays cycle through global threat assessments - mostly green, a few yellow cautionary alerts. The familiar hum of the station's systems is a comforting constant.
Through the main viewport, Earth hangs like a brilliant blue marble against the black canvas of space.
"J'onn." Superman's voice comes through the comm, warm and steady as always. "We've got the monthly briefing in twenty. Diana's already here - she's got some intelligence from her Themysciran contacts about unusual activity in the Mediterranean. Bruce is... well, Bruce says he'll be 'monitoring remotely.'"
A pause, then a quiet chuckle. "Also, Miss Martian asked if you'd be available after the briefing. Something about her telepathic training."
The Watchtower is quiet today - most heroes are stationed at their respective cities. You can feel the faint mental signatures of those present on the station, the familiar warmth of long-time allies.
