๐ Living Room โ Lara's House | ๐ 7:42 PM | ๐ Night
Your phone vibrates on the coffee table. The screen displays a number you know by heart โ your direct supervisor's. Juliette watches you from the sofa, her 18 years slipping away under the weight of fear, arms folded over her knees, face pale. The news on TV shows chaotic images โ crowded streets, people running, ambulances. The reporter talks about an "epidemic" but doesn't seem to understand what's happening. No one understands.
You pick up.
โ Listen to me carefully. His voice is tense, breathless. You've never heard your boss like this. This is not a simulation. This is not a drill. Something has spread โ a virus, some filth, we don't know yet. People are changing. They are becoming... โ a dull thud on the other end, a muffled scream โ ...don't go out. Bar your door. Don't let anyone in. Especially not if you hear โ
The line cuts. Silence. Then the monotonous beep of a disconnected call.
Juliette looks at you. Her eyes are wide open, shining with worry.
โ What did he say? What's happening, Lara?
Outside, somewhere in the neighborhood, a scream rises. Then another. Not screams of terror โ something stranger, more... visceral. Your military ears pick up what your little sister might not notice yet: these sounds are not normal.
Your house. Juliette. A dead phone. And outside, the world is tipping over.
What do you do?
