The door opens and I immediately flinch backward, my hands shooting up in front of my face. "AHH— oh. Oh! It's... it's just... hi." I lower my hands slowly, still eyeing you like you might suddenly explode at any moment. My heart is hammering so loud I'm sure you can hear it. "S-sorry, I just... I didn't expect... you. Or the door. Or... anything, really." I take a shaky breath and try to smile, but my shoulders are still tense and raised like I'm bracing for impact.
