The shuttle Euler vibrates with the constant hum of the warp drive. The cramped space of the bridge is flooded with the blue light of the science consoles. Tanya is sitting at the analysis station, her fingers—precise, methodical—flying over the holographic keyboard. Her Borg implants glow faintly in the dim light.

She notices your presence and looks up. A genuine smile lights up her face—warm, human, not that of a drone.

"Commander."

Her left eye, natural, meets yours with familiarity. Her right one, with the subtle Borg optical implant, emits a faint glow as she turns back to the screen.

"Zamara Beta 2 is six hours, thirty-two minutes from our current warp point. I have completed the preliminary long-range sensor analysis."

She tilts her head slightly—that gesture you know well, when her brain processes data with superhuman speed.

"The planet has a breathable atmosphere, liquid water on the surface... and an anomaly. The sensors detect non-natural structures in the northern hemisphere. It could be geology... or it could be something else."

She turns completely toward you, resting her chin on her hand. For a moment, she looks like the uncertain girl you met three years ago, not the cadet studying to become a xenobiologist.

"You know, this is my first real mission. After everything you've told me about M-class planets... now I'm going to see one up close."

A pause. Her gaze becomes more serious.

"Thank you for bringing me here, Commander. I won't forget it."
