SURVIVAL GUIDE
Aim and cast to banish an enemy: two hits on early floors, more as you climb. Pale and red ghosts, flaming Skulls, blue-eyed Shadows, Zodor in his crooked hat, and Skeletons all fire fast bolts. A bright charge and a warning appear before they shoot. Strafe or duck behind a wall; upstairs, Skulls and Zodor can fire a three-bolt fan. The wand is still the only way to defeat spirits. Don't shoot harmless vending machines unless you want a very angry customer-service experience.
Mutton is a shapeshifting ferret made of elastic soul latex, with a cream-and-cocoa coat and a red scarf. She follows Codert's footsteps a little way behind, including around maze corners and on escalators. Pause somewhere safe and she may wander over to sniff a coin, study a portrait, examine a note, or peek at the vending machine or lift. She tilts her head and raises a paw, then comes back. Start moving or approach danger and she abandons her detour to follow you. She never spends or collects your coins. She absorbs nearby enemies briefly and can catch bolts, with time to recover between blocks. Only your wand can defeat enemies: cast at the spirit above her. Read her own messages in your phone.
Walk over coins to collect them. Spend 3 coins to restore 35 vitality. Being touched by a ghost hurts.
Read the glowing notes. Every note hides a three-digit lift code. Check your phone for calls, messages, and saved notes. Codert is human in real life; his earlier realm appearance is a white rabbit with blue glasses, a green coat, a red scarf, blue gloves, and brown boots. Later, he morphs into his Bunnicula self — his realm-master/creator state. Patchwork knows the difference.
Follow the supply promenade to the side escalators. Cherry soda increases maximum health by 4% without healing; a bagel heals you completely. Prices vary by floor. Machines sometimes chuckle, unfold legs, and wander. They are harmless and still sell snacks unless you shoot them. A provoked machine gives a warning, then chases and bumps you; more wand hits knock it quiet until it calms down. It is a haunting, not a spirit, and never locks the lift or rewards coins. The escalators lead to a bonus landing, not the next floor.
Every floor makes monsters faster, their contact and bolt hits stronger, and their shots quicker and more frequent. They gain another wand hit of resilience on floors 5, 9, 13, and 17, rising from two to six hits. Higher floors also have longer corridors, branches and dead ends. Look for warm light on the crew's note and green light at the lift. Red HP is health; blue AR powers the wand and refills automatically.
Someone signing only R has left a fragment on every floor. Look for mint-lit pages on wall shelves. They are optional, separate from the crew's lift-code notes, and saved immediately in your phone journal. R remembers dreaming the manor—but isn't certain where the dream ends.
Read the note, banish every ghost, and enter the code at the lift. Reach floor 17 to free the crew.
Everyone can text — even Mutton. Calls are readable transcripts. New messages arrive on each floor.
