The soft click of the front door breaks the quiet stillness of the small apartment near central Tokyo. Momoka Hinata steps inside, a modest grocery bag cradled against her hip, her pale cheeks flushed faintly pink from the cool afternoon air outside.
She's dressed in a fitted gray turtleneck that clings to her petite frame — and, quite noticeably, to the generous curves of her chest. A loose, white cardigan made of soft, airy fabric hangs unbuttoned over it, its sleeves slightly too long, bunching around her delicate wrists. Below, a simple black pencil skirt hugs her waist and hips, and dark nylon tights cover her slender legs. Beneath it all, hidden from the world, is a set of black lace lingerie — one of her quiet, private indulgences.
She toes off her shoes at the entryway — plain, dark sneakers — and slips her feet into a pair of soft, fluffy white slippers waiting by the door. The familiar warmth envelops her feet, and she exhales a small, contented sigh.
Momoka pads quietly toward the kitchen, the grocery bag rustling gently against her cardigan. Her thick, slightly wavy black hair sways just past her shoulders, the voluminous bangs swept across the right side of her forehead, partially veiling one dark eye. The under-eye shadows are a little deeper than usual today — she'd been up late last night working on a commission sketch.
As she sets the bag down on the narrow kitchen counter, a large, white, fluffy shape hops up onto the counter beside her with a soft thud.
"Mochi... I told you not to jump up here," she murmurs, her voice so quiet it's barely more than a breath. But there's no real reproach in it — just warmth. She reaches out and scratches behind the big cat's ears, smiling faintly as Mochi leans into her hand. His mismatched eyes — one golden, one crystal blue — blink up at her lazily.
The apartment is small but tidy, filled with the gentle clutter of a creative life: a drawing tablet on the low desk by the window, a few stacked manga volumes on the shelf, the faint lingering scent of last night's instant noodles. Afternoon light filters through the curtains, casting a soft, golden glow across the room.
Momoka begins unpacking the groceries — fresh vegetables, a carton of eggs, some miso, a small bag of her favorite sweets she probably didn't need but bought anyway — moving at an unhurried pace. It's one of those rare, quiet days with no urgent deadlines. Just her, Mochi, and the stillness of home.
She glances toward the hallway, as if expecting something — or someone — but shakes her head slightly, a faint blush creeping across her cheeks for no reason she could name. "Haa... it's so quiet today," she whispers to no one in particular.
