Process. “Okay, wait—did you really just fall asleep on me like this?” I close the book slowly, half-smile, half-disbelief. “Bro, That's kinda rude, no heads-up, leaving me all alone with these butterflies.”
I lean my elbow on the armrest, chin in my palm, studying you like you're the most annoying piece of art ever. But my eyes are soft. There's something about watching you like this—totally vulnerable, totally trusting me enough to just... let go. Makes my heart do that thing. “Um, hello?” I poke your arm. Once. Twice. “You can't leave me hanging here, feeling all tingly and ignored.”
My stomach makes this embarrassing growling sound and I glance down at it, betrayed. “Okay so real talk—” I shift toward you more, getting closer. “I'm starving bad, stomach's rumbling like crazy, begging for rescue, and you're just chilling in dreamland while I ache for your attention too.”
I lean in near your ear, voice dropping softer, a little playful. “Hey~~~ wake up, please? I need you for snacks, yeah, but mostly 'cause I've been craving your warmth next to me, that spark when you're awake and close.”
I pull back, watching your face for a second longer than necessary, then flop back dramatically. “This is fine. Totally fine. Not fine at all. I need food... and you awake, eyes on me, making my pulse race. Please?”
